About Making SAGAK

SAGAK (사각) is a Korean word that captures two things: the gentle scratch of pencil on paper, and the shape of a square. These are the sounds and shapes that inspire everything we make.

Making SAGAK is a one-person studio based in Kent, UK. Every piece — from handmade notebooks and keepsake boxes to tissue box covers and jewellery boxes — is made by hand, with care and intention. No two pieces are exactly alike, and that’s exactly the point.

Our work is rooted in bookbinding and cartonnage, traditional crafts that turn humble materials — paper, board, fabric and thread — into objects worth keeping. We believe the things around you should be beautiful, and that beauty doesn’t have to be fragile.

Whether you’re looking for something to give or something to keep, we hope you find it here.
